Who are some of the Vocal Molly's amazing singers and actors?
I had the pleasure of coaching
Devin Velez when he was a Top finalist on American Idol , season 12, when Mariah Carey was one of the judges! He won over so many with his rendtion of "Somos Novios". Since Idol, Devin has had quite a career! Highlights include an NPR Tiny Desk concert and performances at the famed Troubador in Los Angeles.
I was also the first teacher of Fiona , who went on to star as "Young Anna" in Disney's "Frozen" on Broadway!
Danielle Coupet was on NBC's "I Can See Your Voice" as the "Boxer" !
Recently, students have been accepted to prestigious drama and music programs.
Whitney T was accepted at
NYU for Acting
Lily C was accepted at the
Berklee College of Music In Chicagoland, students have done summer programs at Drury Lane Oakbrook, and even got to sing for
Lyric Opera soprano Amanda Majeski!
Locally, students have also performed at the
Woodstock Opera House, Elgin Symphony,
Metropolis Performing Arts Center, as well as the
Marriott Lincolnshire Theater My singers are also getting noticed at music competitions! In 2023, Brin F was a finalist in the
Hal Leonard Vocal Competition in the Musical Theatre category.
Students were also given the highest ranking in their respective states choral and solo competitions, including New York, Texas, and New Jersey .
My middle school and high school students are killin' it! Some of the lead and supporting roles my theater types have performed lately: TWO different Ariels in "Little Mermaid", Anna in "Frozen", Elsa in "Frozen", Annie in "Annie", two different Matildas (same show, double cast. Proud teacher!), Lady of the Lake in "Spamalot", Lady Larkin in "Once Upon a Mattress", Golde in "Fiddler on the Roof", Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof", Jerusha in "Daddy Long Legs", Chad in "All Shook Up", Evelyn Nesbit in "Ragtime", Paul in "A Chorus Line", " Diana in "A Chorus Line", Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz", the Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz", Enjolras in "Les Miserables", Paulette in "Legally Blonde" (two actresses, two different productions!)
Adult students also include professional actors, musicians, and dancers that have been affiliated with companies such as Hulu and the Joffrey Ballet
